Lofts on Beall is a completed multi-unit (11) townhome development near downtown Bozeman, Montana, and one of Solstice Design Studio’s earliest projects that recently finished in fall 2025. It reflects the studio’s belief that thoughtful design and thoughtful building take time.
From the start, the site posed a challenge: irregularly shaped, situated between residential and commercial zones, and governed by tight zoning constraints. The process was highly collaborative, bringing together the owner, builder, landscape architect and multiple engineers to shape a project that responds to the site and surrounding context.
Two clusters of townhomes were designed to fit the lot with precision, balancing density and openness. An unbuildable corner became shared space. Each unit includes private outdoor space, north-facing balconies with views to the Bridger Mountains, and is designed for future rooftop solar to offset operational energy use.
Interior layouts are efficient and fluid. Exterior materials balance richness and restraint.
This project offers a model for refined, semi-dense housing that responds to Bozeman’s growth while honoring the neighborhood and the views.
